Start with the product page, not the thumbnail. A trustworthy handmade listing names the material in plain language, gives an approximate size, and describes the technique — macramé knotting, crochet, hand-knit, resin casting — rather than calling everything “ethnic” or “boho handmade.” Crafted Bharat product pages also show colour and size options when they exist, so you are not guessing after checkout.

Photos should show the object from more than one angle, including texture. Handmade work has slight variation: a knot that sits a millimetre differently, a resin pour with a unique inclusion. That is not a defect. What is a defect is a listing that uses only stock photography, hides scale, or never mentions who packed the item. If a brand will not put its name on the parcel, treat the listing as a marketplace gamble.

Materials tell you how the piece will live in your home. Cotton macramé cord is strong and washable with care; acrylic blends can pill; resin should be fully cured and free of sticky patches; knitwear should list fibre so you know whether it needs a gentle wash.
